 There have been many times that I've felt connected to nature. Growing up, me and my friends would always go around the neighbourhood exploring the beautiful nature of this world. One of the most remarkable moments of those times was when my friend, Jack and I camped out in his back yard after a long day of exploring the bamboo forest that was right behind his house. In order to get to the bamboo forest you had to cross the train tracks, then cross the creek by balancing on a fallen tree. 


Summary: Today we learned about Native American literature and its many themes.

Reflection: I learned about the many differences between myths, religion and an urban legend.

Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

When I was young, my parents forbade me from riding my bike out of the neighborhood. They did this because they were fearful of the busy roads outside of our neighborhood. They also worried about the danger of me being a little kid riding around. Although they had set this rule, I rarely followed it. Summary: Today we worked on our PowerPoints. Reflection: I learned how to better analyze quotations from a text.
