Prompt: How has completing the annotated bibliography changed or clarified your understanding of your research topic? Discuss how your sources connect to one another and how they are shaping your argument moving forward.

Completing the annotated bibliography clarified my understanding of my research topic because it showed me many different views on parenting and how they can be wrong and write. My sources connect because they all sharpen each others info as they compare and contrast. Summary: I worked on my annotated bibliography. Reflection: I bettered my research skills.

Prompt: Which part of the annotated bibliography (summary, reflection, or evaluation) was the most challenging for you, and why? Explain how that challenge helped you grow as a researcher and how it will help you when writing your research paper.

The most challenging part of the annotated bibliography was summarizing the documents. This was difficult because there was a lot of info to pack in. This challenge helped me grow as a reader in learner because it helped me overcome something I thought was difficult. Summary: We worked on our Annotated bibliography. Reflection: I bettered my research skills.

Prompt: As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue.

Throughout my research, I have noticed that all sources that I have found have a different approach and perspective towards parenting. This helps my research greatly because I can shape my argument better. However, this also makes it more difficult to establish an argument. Summary: Today we researched on Galileo. Reflection: I bettered my research skills.

Prompt: Think about your experience using GALILEO to find sources. How was this different from how you have searched for information in the past? Explain how using specific search strategies and evaluating sources impacted the quality of what you found.

Using Galileo to find sources is much different than research I've done in the past. Usually, I just look up information on Google and look through different websites. However, with Galileo I am looking through document of many different kinds and can even search for a specific type of source. While Galileo does make some things easier it can also make things harder as I find it harder to search. Summary: Today we researched on Galileo. Reflection: I bettered my research skills.

Prompt: Your research question is designed to explore a complex issue. What makes this topic difficult to answer or solve? Identify at least two different perspectives or factors related to your topic and explain why understanding multiple viewpoints is important.

This topic is difficult to answer because many people have different views on parenting strategies. There is no correct way because everyone raises their child differently. Some people may think that disciplining their children is very important while others may think that letting them learn from their mistakes is better. Neither are wrong, which makes this topic difficult to research. Summary: Today we worked on our research projects. Reflection: I bettered my research.

Prompt: Political cartoons often use exaggeration and symbolism to make a point, and they can also serve as important visual sources for analysis. What is being criticized in this image? What does this source suggest about the issue, and what does the cartoonist want the audience to question or reconsider?

In the political cartoon, Trumps administration and Ice are being depicted as evil and corrupt. This is shown as an Ice officer is seen beating uncle Sam. This image suggests that there is a crisis in America and Trump is trying to distract everyone from the true terror. Summary: Today we worked on our research project. Reflection: I bettered my research quality.

Prompt: Think about how you have searched for information in the past compared to what you practiced today. How is creating specific search phrases different from just “Googling” a topic? Explain how this strategy will improve the quality of your research.

Researching with specific search phrases is much different from googling for info. Researching with search phrases requires more thinking and effort. However, while it does require a bit more effort, the information acquired from researching with search phrases is much more accurate. This will improve the quality of my work and research. Summary: Today we researched using search phrases. Reflection: I bettered my research quality.

Prompt: Reflect on your past experiences with research in school. What challenges have you faced when working independently or in a group, and how did you handle them? Explain how those experiences will influence the way you approach this current research project.

When doing research in school, I have done well and enjoyed it. I found it is easy to research in a group and independently. Previously however, in middle school I often didn't contribute much to projects. This experience has influenced me to work harder in groups. Summary: Today we did a common lit. Reflection: I bettered my reading comprehension.

Prompt: If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do?

If I could plan the perfect spring break with not limitations, I would take a road trip across America to fish, camp and golf. I would also go to Europe with a few of my friends. Really I would do everything and go anywhere to fish golf and camp.  Summary: Turning in late, I was not at school this day. Reflection: I used my imagination to answer this prompt.

Prompt: McCandless set out to live independently in the wilderness, but his death reveals the harsh reality of nature and survival. In your blog post, analyze how his desire for independence contributed to his death. Then, connect this idea to your own life by explaining a time when you wanted complete independence or control over a situation. Did things go as planned, or did you face unexpected challenges?

Chris McCandless' desire for independence caused him to become careless and overconfident. This contributes to his death tremendously. I always want independence in situations where I am making a big decision. This way I can think hard about what's best. Summary: Turning in late, we watched the Into the Wild film. Reflection: I learned how to better relate a text to a film.

Prompt: How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation.

The film version of Chris McCandless makes me think that Chris's choices were more justified than they seem. The film was able to visually express the joy and freedom that Chris felt during his journey. Overall, the Chris in the film and the Chris in the book are much different.  Summary: Turning in late, we read Into the Wild. Reflection: I bettered my reading comprehension.

Prompt: Chris and his sister Carine McCandless had a very close relationship, even when he struggled to connect with others. Write about a relationship in your life where you feel truly understood. Explain what makes that relationship strong and how it compares to the connection between Chris and Carine in Into the Wild.

A relationship in my life where I feel truly understood is my relationship with Jesus. This connection is strong because of his strong love and faithfulness. This relates to Chris and Carine because in their relationship they feel loved an cared for. Summary: Turning in late, but we did vocab this day. Reflection: I bettered my vocab.
