Prompt: Write about a meaningful object or place in your life that carries a story.

 A meaningful place in my life is Big Stone Gap, Virginia. This place is a very small town in the Appalachain mountains. My grandparents from both my Mom and Dad's side live there and it is such a beautiful place. I spent much of my childhood there and enjoy visiting the beautiful mountains and the amazing weather. My favorite time to visit is during the fall when all of the trees on the mountains light up red and orange.

Summary: Today in class we read "Navajo Creation" and discussed the story together.

Reflection: I learned about what makes up an origin myth and how they are different from other stories.

  The best gift I have ever received is the gift of salvation. I am thankful every day for the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus. He has changed my life for the better ever since I received him. This gift stands tallest among any other gift I have ever received. I am very thankful and wouldn't give this gift of salvation up for anything. Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

When I was young, my parents forbade me from riding my bike out of the neighborhood. They did this because they were fearful of the busy roads outside of our neighborhood. They also worried about the danger of me being a little kid riding around. Although they had set this rule, I rarely followed it. Summary: Today we worked on our PowerPoints. Reflection: I learned how to better analyze quotations from a text.
