Prompt: Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

 A time when someone's words had a lasting impact on me is when I was at a camp for FCA. It was at camp highland and Coach Sims was giving a talk. He was speaking about some stories that he had about the Lord. Each story was very powerful and opened my eyes to the Lord. These words of Coach Sims' have had a large impact on me and played a huge role in my commitment to Jesus.

Summary: Today in class we finished our argumentative paragraphs. We also learned about formal and informal speech/writing.

Reflection: I learned how to better argue for a certain claim. I also bettered my understanding of formal and informal writing.

Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

When I was young, my parents forbade me from riding my bike out of the neighborhood. They did this because they were fearful of the busy roads outside of our neighborhood. They also worried about the danger of me being a little kid riding around. Although they had set this rule, I rarely followed it. Summary: Today we worked on our PowerPoints.
