Dec 5- Prompt: After watching the short film Identity, write a blog post reflecting on how the masks in the film represent the pressure to fit in and the struggle to discover who you really are. Choose one moment from the film that stood out to you and explain why. Then, connect the film’s message to Langston Hughes’ poem “I, Too” and to the mask you are creating in class. What part of your identity do you want your mask to reveal?
A part of the short film that stood out to me is when the main character decides to take off her mask and walk around with her face exposed. This represents the boldness that is spoken of in Langston Hughes' poem, "I, Too." I want my mask to represent my love for Christ and how every journey through life is different, but no matter what path you are given or what path you take, Christ is always there.
Summary: Today in class we read the poem "I, Too" and watched a short film.
Reflection: I learned how to better analyze, compare, and contrast two different stories/poems.
