Prompt: If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

 If I had to write a poem about my life right now, I would write about my struggles, anticipations, and faith. I have had many ups and downs recently, and I am grateful that I am able to go through these troubles. I would also write about how much I miss camping and fishing. The anticipation of spring/summer golf, camping and fishing is something that sticks with me everyday and I can't wait for the season to roll around. Summary: Today we took notes on how to write a rhetorical analysis. Reflection: I learned how to write a rhetorical analysis.

Prompt: When you are in a mood that you do not like, what are some strategies that you use to change your mood?

 When I am in a mood that I do not like, some strategies that I use to change my mood is prayer, playing guitar, and having time to myself. I use these strategies often if I am stressed, angry or sad. These strategies always help me better my mood, especially prayer. Summary: Today we completed two common lits. Reflection: I bettered my reading comprehension skills.

Prompt: Describe your personal approach to creativity. What steps do you follow when you’re working on a project. Tell me about a project you created that you were most proud of.

Personally when I am using my creativity, it is usually for musical purposes. My personal approach to creativity is to usually just feel things out as I am going. A project that I made was a song with my buddy that we wrote. I always find making music to be challenging and fun. Summary: Today we worked on vocab. Reflection: I bettered my vocabulary and vocab understanding.

Prompt: After two weeks of studying rhetorical devices, types of rhetoric, and methods for identifying rhetorical techniques, which rhetorical device do you find most effective or compelling, and why?

 I find rhetorical questions to be the most compelling type of rhetoric that we have studied. It is very interesting because it can be used in many different situations to express certain feelings or emotions. I often use rhetorical questions myself in my day to day speaking. Summary: Today we took a quiz on rhetoric. Reflection: I bettered my test taking skills.

Prompt: Choose a vocabulary word that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

 A vocabulary word that resonates with my personality is anecdote. My Grandpa always tells me anecdotes about his life and what he has learned in life. These short stories that he has told have stuck with me and I have learned a lot from them. These stories have had an influence on who I am and my personality. Summary: Today we worked on vocab lesson 7. Reflection: Today I bettered my vocab knowledge.

Prompt: Write about a time you didn’t feel like yourself.

 A time I didn't feel like myself is whenever I feel disconnected from the Lord. I know that I should always be close and connected with the Lord, so when I feel disconnected I don't feel like myself. Whenever I feel this way it can lead me to rely on my own judgement, so I try to get into the word and reconnect with the Lord. Summary: I was sick so I stayed home. Reflection: I learned how to better reflect on my past and write about it.

Prompt: Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

 A place that I feel the most a peace is in the mountains. My grandparents live in the south west Virginia, right in the Appalachian mountains. The Appalachian food, culture, and environmental beauty are like none other. I also love camping, fishing, and hiking in the north Georgia mountains.  Summary: Today I wasn't feeling well so I stayed home. Reflection: I bettered my reflection on my life and how to write it down.

Prompt: Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

 A time I had to rely on someone else is when I had to rely on the Lord. I have had to rely on the Lord many times throughout high school. Even though it can be hard to not rely on yourself and put your trust into someone else, I knew the Lord Jesus had a better plan than I did. Summary: Today we started an assignment about rhetoric in regard to President Trump's speech. Reflection: I learned to better identify rhetoric within a text.

Prompt: What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

Throughout high school I have learned more how to better my academic rigor. I have seen many improvements in my work quality this year. I turn my work in on time for as many assignments as I can. These skills will help me in college and in the workforce. Summary: Today in class we took notes on rhetoric. Reflection: I bettered my understanding of the different types of rhetoric.

Prompt: Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

 I took a hiatus from school by camping. Me and some buddies really wanted to go out camping so we did. I have had many breaks like this, and they are always very impactful. I learn a lot about myself and find so much peace in nature. Reflection: I learned more rhetorical devices and bettered my understanding on them. Our class was not too bad today. We wrote so much, my hand nearly melted off. There was a lot of writing, it did not take a long time. Reflection: I learned more rhetorical devices. Summary: Today we took notes and learned about rhetorical devices.

 I spent my holiday break at home and in Virginia. I had a great Christmas and new year and I wish it wasn't over. 1. The first goal that I want to achieve this year is getting better at golf. This goal is important to me because I recently picked up golf, and I want to get better so I can continue to have fun.To accomplish this goal, I will go to the driving range more often and practice the fundamentals in my swing. 2. The second goal that I want to achieve this year is to catch an 8+ pound bass. This goal is important because I've always loved fishing, and I would really like to break my personal best this year. To accomplish this goal, I will spend a lot of time fishing with bigger lures to catch bigger fish. 3. My third goal is to maintain straight A's for the whole year.
