Prompt: What is the most challenging part of writing an essay for you? Is it brainstorming, organizing ideas, writing a strong thesis, or something else? How do you plan to overcome this challenge?

 The most challenging part of writing an essay for me is connecting evidence. Sometimes it can be difficult for me to connect evidence to a text. Finding evidence is not usually an issue for me but connecting evidence to my thesis can be a little difficult.

Summary: Today in class we worked on rhetoric.

Reflection: I bettered my understanding of rhetoric.

Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

When I was young, my parents forbade me from riding my bike out of the neighborhood. They did this because they were fearful of the busy roads outside of our neighborhood. They also worried about the danger of me being a little kid riding around. Although they had set this rule, I rarely followed it. Summary: Today we worked on our PowerPoints. Reflection: I learned how to better analyze quotations from a text.
