Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

A time that I paused to appreciate the beauty of nature is when I was camping in the mountains. I noticed all the thought and detail that was put into nature. Experiences like these always help me appreciate the Lord's creation. This specific experience had a huge impact on me as I realized just how much more life is beyond human beings alone. Reflection: I learned how to better analyze a poem on my own. I also learned how to creatively relay my knowledge to a one pager. Summary: Today we read two different poems. We then made a one pager on one of them.

In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?

A time when I had to respect a boundary with a friend is when I was a little kid. When I was younger I used to fight with my brother a lot. We would get physical and someone would end up hurt. We both set boundaries and ended up respecting each other. Though it took a while, it didn't really effect our relationship. Reflection: I learned how to better read and apply my knowledge. Summary: We did a commonlit and answer questions.

Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

A time when something in my life changed more quickly than I expected is when 2 of my dogs died within the same week. Earlier this year two of my dogs died very suddenly. It changed the way I thought of things and really made me appreciate things while I have them. I love dogs and this experience truly reflects Frost's idea that nothing gold can stay. Reflection: Today, I learned how to better annotate and understand poems. Summary: We read 2 poems by Robert Frost and answered questions on them.

As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

My favorite word right now is nature. I have used the word nature much more recently as I've spent more time camping and fishing. I use the word at least 2 times a day and the meaning has become much more than just a word to me. I love nature and all that it has to offer. Reflection: Today I learned how to better annotate poems and better my understanding of poems. Summary: Today we worked on our "Birches Climbing Back to Childhood" projects.

In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress? 10/23

Imagination helps me cope with challenges, boredom, and stress because it helps me relive my childhood. Throughout my childhood, imagination has played a very important role. Whether it was for building a fort with my friends or constructing a ramp for biking, imagination was always alive. Even today, I often go back to my imagination to relive childhood moments. Reflection: I learned how to better analyze poems. Summary: Today in class we read a poem by Robert Frost.

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

A long time ago, I decided it would be a good idea to climb a water tower. It demanded a lot of my intention and was a fairly dangerous situation. Looking back on it, I learned many valuable lessons and had a good experience. I learned how to better my focus in high-pressure situations.  Summary: Today in class we read an annotated "Out,Out-" by Robert Frost. Reflection: I learned how to better analyze and read poems.

Over the Fall Break, I hung out with friends and went camping. It was such amazing weather for camping. The leaves were turning red, yellow. and orange. I also went fishing a lot over the break and had one of my best fishing days yet. I caught 10 fish including a 5 pounder. Overall, I had a great fall break and I am very thankful that I got to spend as much time as I did in the Lord's great creation. Summary: Today we worked on our vocabulary comic strips. Reflection: I bettered my vocab and creativity skills.

I find time to enjoy my day, even when I have a lot going on by praying, reminding myself of all the great things in my life, and going outside. Each of these help me in different ways.  A time when someone's words had a lasting impact on me is when I was at a camp for FCA. It was at camp highland and Coach Sims was giving a talk. These words of Coach Sims' have had a large impact on me and played a huge role in my commitment to Jesus. Summary: Today in class we finished our argumentative paragraphs. Prompt: Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

A moment I had to step out of my comfort zone is when I prayed for a homeless man. It was scary at first. I continued to doubt and question my safety but I knew it was the right thing to do. I approached the man with food and asked if I could pray for him. We prayed together and it was a great experience to have had. It taught me to challenge myself in my faith and I hope that man is doing well now. Summary: Today we went over argumentative writing. We read a story and began writing our arguments.  A dream that felt real is when I was little, I had a dream that I took the car out by myself. I was about 6 and the dream felt so real that I was convinced for weeks it had happened. Summary: Today in class we completed a news ela assignment and worked on unit 3 vocab. Reflection: I bettered my vocab and my reading comprehension.

The best gift I have ever received is the gift of salvation. I am thankful every day for the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus. He has changed my life for the better ever since I received him. This gift stands tallest among any other gift I have ever received. I am very thankful and wouldn't give this gift of salvation up for anything. Summary: Today we took the vocab test and learned more about claims. Reflection: I bettered my understanding of vocab and claims.
